CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS CONCERTS

Monday, December 16, 2019 at 7:30pm
And Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 7:30pm

Our most popular concert of the year! Lit by the glow of hundreds of candles, our singers resound with carols old and new - plus trumpeter Kevin Cobb and special vocal soloist from our Young Artist Program.

Baroque CELEBRATION

Works by Purcell, Monteverdi, Schütz, Bach, Gibbons, Palestrina and others Wednesday, Wednesday January 29, 2020 at 7:30pm

One of the most varied and lively programs we have ever presented, featuring many of the greatest names of Early Choral Music. Cathedral anthems by Purcell, brilliant chamber works of Monteverdi, polychoral music by Schütz, anthems and motets by Gibbons, Palestrina and J. S. Bach himself.

Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem

Lieder by Brahms and Richard Strauss
Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 7:30pm

One of the most beloved of all choral works, Brahms’ Requiem was not intended as a Mass of the Dead but as consolation for those left behind. Brahms’ own four-hand piano version spotlights every glorious nuance from the Voices of Ascension.

Bach Mass in B Minor

Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 7:30pm

The culmination of Bach’s life as a composer of choral music, this extraordinary work features several of the greatest moments in all classical music: the exhilarating “Et resurrexit,” the triumphant, cosmic “Sanctus,” and the final “Dona nobis pacem,” a chorus of universal scope.

ASTRONAUTICA - WOMEN IN SPACE

Voices of The New, Inaugural Performance
Spring 2020, Date TBA

Voices of Ascension is thrilled to announce a new artistic initiative for next season. It will be a series of performances dedicated to exploring new horizons of chamber and vocal ensemble music. It will be called Voices of The New.

The inaugural concert is entitled, Astronautica – Women in Space. It is a newly commissioned work of music, voice, and video by women composers, with libretto drawn from the words of the women who have traveled in outer space and seen our world from a dramatic new perspective. Astro- nauta is an artistic evocation of the transformation that happens when one sees our small planet set against the endless blackness of space. Without borders. Without the artificial boundaries and that divide – and could well destroy – humankind.

Level A Subscribers can purchase $20 tickets to this concert.
Level B Subscribers can purchase $10 tickets to this concert.
