2025–2026 Season Reflections

The 2025–2026 season marked a year of extraordinary artistic achievement, community engagement, and growth for Voices of Ascension.

Over six sold-out performances, audiences joined us for programs ranging from Dennis Keene's powerful opening pairing of Mozart's Great Mass in C Minor and Bach's Magnificat, featuring internationally renowned soprano Liv Redpath, to rarely heard works by Brahms, Kodály, and Duruflé highlighted by Metropolitan Opera star Miles Mykkanen's performance of Kodály's Psalmus Hungaricus. The season also embraced modern and contemporary voices including Olivier Messiaen, Sofia Gubaidulina, Celeste Oram, and Ellen Reid. A defining moment of the season was the launch of Choral Visionaries, our new guest conductor initiative. The inaugural residency welcomed Beth Willer and culminated in Canticle of the Sun, an immersive multimedia production featuring the world premiere of Celeste Oram's The Seas Salt Us to Taste. Throughout the year, Voices also expanded its digital presence through new concert films and celebrated its largest Gala to date, honoring Anthony Roth Costanzo and Alexandra Munroe.

Beyond the concert stage, audiences gathered for salons, conversations, and community events that deepened engagement with the music and artists featured throughout the season. These gatherings reflected our belief that great music can create spaces for reflection, discovery, and meaningful connection.

As we look ahead to The Radiant Depths, our 2026–2027 season, we are grateful to the artists, audiences, supporters, and friends who made this remarkable year possible.
